Utah water is hard, and hard water is expensive before it's anything else.
The City of South Jordan publishes its own supply at 7 to 10 grains per gallon and classes it as hard. Your street may test higher or lower, which is the whole reason the test exists.
Hard water is safe to drink and meets every standard. What it does is leave scale, and scale is what costs money.
- Inside the water heater, it builds up until the heater works harder for the same hot shower.
- It coats the inside of fixtures and shortens the life of every appliance the water touches.
- Glasses come out of the dishwasher spotted, and soap never quite lathers.
- The shower door needs scrubbing again a week after you scrubbed it.
Three steps, and the first one is free.
We test.
A technician comes to the house and tests the water at your tap. About 30 minutes.
We report.
You get a written report with the numbers, what they mean for your house, and what each option would cost.
You decide.
If you want the work, we schedule it. If you don't, you still have the report and your number.
Four systems, from $1,800.
| What it is | Price | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
Water softener | from$2,400 | Your house has hard water and you want the scale to stop. |
Softener and whole-home filtration | from$5,000 | Hard water plus a taste, a smell, or anything else the test picks up. |
Filtration added to your softener | from$3,000 | You already have a softener that works, and only filtration is missing. |
Under-sink reverse osmosis | from$1,800 | Drinking and cooking water at one tap, usually the kitchen. |
The test sets the final price, because it depends on the hardness, the size of the house, and what's already installed.
We test first and quote second.
We size each system to the hardness we measure at your tap. The right size is the difference between softened water and a machine that regenerates more than it should.
Our starting prices are on this page, so you know the range before anyone comes out.
